As a preventative, when an attack is feared, Puls. 3, 8h.
When the veins have become actually affected, Ham. 3, 3h. ; locally, support, and at night apply compresses of Hamamelis lotion (one drachm - Oj.)
If there is much pain in the veins, Puls. 3, 2h.
If there is debility, Formica 3x, gtt. x. 8h.
In old-standing cases, Fluor. ac. 3, gtt. ii. 4h.
After these (especially in varicocele) - (1) Ferr. phos. 3, gr. iv. 4h. ; (2) Plumb. 6, 4h.
In cases of rupture apply a pad saturated with tincture of Hamamelis over the bleeding point and fix with a firm bandage.
