Dr. Vijay Vaishnav MD (Hom)

 

Dr. Vijay H. Vaishnav M.D. (Hom.), is a Professor and Head of the department of Materia Medica at Smt. C.M.P. Homoeopathic Medical College, Mumbai, India, where he has been teaching for more than 22 years.

He is also a Hon. Physician at Shree Mumbadevi Homoeopathic Hospital, which is a teaching hospital attached to the college. He has had intensive training in internalmedicine at the KEM Hospital in Mumbai where he attended the OPDs, Grand rounds and emergencies with the unit of the Head of the department.

He has been closely associated in developing new concepts in teaching Materia Medica and has prepared a unique model of approach to the study of Homoeopathic Therapeutics.

He has been invited to lecture at many other colleges in India. In April 1997, he lectured at the Hahnemann College of Homoeopathy in the UK, and conducted informational seminars in the USA. He has also conducted workshops for study groups at London in April 1999, and has lectured at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Portland, Oregon (USA) in May 1999, 2000 and 2001.

He also lectured at the Caduceus Institute of Classical Homeopathy, Santa Cruz, California (USA) in May 2000 and 2001. In July 2004, he had a five day advanced seminar at Vienna, Austria organized by the Studentinnen Initiative Homöopathie for homoeopathic students and doctors.

He has been invited to lecture to members of the Bombay Ophthalmic Association on the “Role of Homoeopathy in Ophthalmology” where he presented many cured cases of uveitis and vitreitis.

He has been a resource person for a re-orientation program for teachers on “Homoeopathy and Pediatrics” and “Homoeopathy and Medicine”. This was sponsored by the Govt. of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

He is on the panel to set the contents of the examination papers and is also an examiner in Materia Medica, Medicine and Surgery for the Universities of Bombay, Amravati, Bihar and Nagpur, and the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.

He was also on the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Homoeopathic Medicine.

In association with his wife, Dr. Daxa Vaishnav, he runs a web site www.drvaishnav.com that aims to increase the awareness about homoeopathy among the masses and also be a learning center for students and practitioners.
